DAGGER called Pia-Kaeta, with its scabbard.
Sri Lanka, 18th century
Steel, wood, silver, gilded brass
Total length: 35 cm – Length of the dagger: 30.3 cm
Blade length: 19.8 cm - Width. from the back of the blade: 1.3cm

Strong steel blade, with a single edge, slightly curved and fitted on each side with a fuller inlaid with engraved gilded brass; the heel is engraved with large scrolls and the back is decorated with a sheet of engraved gilded brass.
Cut and engraved brass ferrule.
The rocket is made of light patina plates, finely carved with scroll patterns organized in capitals, riveted three times including two nails decorated with flowered rosettes cut out of silver. The top is also decorated with silver plates.
Teak wood scabbard, carved, with a brass chape decorated with filigree.

Very good condition.
