Necessary box containing a PAIR of PISTOLS finished by Francis MARQUIS in Paris
France - 19th century
Steel, wood, silver.
Total length: 40cm - Barrel length: 24.5cm - Caliber: 14mm

Octagonal barrels, rifled bores, tobacco finish, with dovetail-mounted front sights engraved on the top: Fni P. Frcis MARQUIS Arq. 2 boulevard des Italiens in Paris, decorated with an engraved frieze and marked 1 & 2 respectively in gold; breech tails in white polished steel, with rear sights, engraved with volutes and marked 1 & 2 respectively in gold.
Flat body front plates, engraved in sequence like the dogs. Percussion operation.
Bridges with finger rests, engraved en suite and surrounded by a frieze.
Silver barrel bolt eyelets.
Ovoid cap pommels, engraved with volutes and a spider's web.
Short barrel mounts, varnished, sculpted at the handles. with gutters.

Good condition, perfect working order.

Mahogany box, with a brass cartouche on the lid engraved BR and reinforced corners. Interior of green felt, with gold marking. Double-locking lock.
Complete with its original accessories.
