Unique piece created by the Belgian sculptor Jules Dewaele, better known under the pseudonym Pia Manu.
A great collector of fossils and trilobites, Pia Manu takes a fossil form in pewter and superimposes it on the table top in slate mosaics.
Signed Pia Manu.
Acquired directly from the artist in 1983 by the previous owner.
Representative of the Flemish Brutalists
He models or sculpts primitive forms with materials with a powerful or anti-poetic texture (as he himself calls them) using concrete, earth and slate.
