Straight knife, kard, wootz damascus blade.
Eastern Iran, 18th century
Steel, marine ivory and gold damascene
Total length: 35 cm – Blade length: 24 cm – Width from the back of the blade: 1 cm

Strong single-edged blade, in "wootz" Damascus steel, with damascened decoration of flowers, birds and felines; it ends with a ferrule taken from the mass and forged in baluster, with damascened decoration presenting flowers; the two-register back has a median ridge, it is also decorated with gold damascened.
The silk is engraved with flowers and foliage, onto which two plates of marine ivory are riveted.
A forged steel retaining ring is attached to the rivet button.

Very good condition.
