Born in Paris in 1995, Louis Baquet rediscovered drawing in 2019, and his creations give birth to a bestiary where the disturbing strangeness mixes with poetry. Hybrid creatures, fantastical figures and enigmatic deities populate this singular universe, inspired by Lovecraft, Redon, Bosch and Cronenberg. Also an antique dealer, our designer composes small, abundant formats, in which the eye gradually discovers a profusion of hidden details.
Presented on the occasion of the Fête des Puces, at the Galerie Rage, located at Paul Bert Serpette, his works oscillate between dreamlike imagination and monstrous strangeness, in line with symbolist and surrealist visions.
