Christ (height 160 cm) by Belgian sculptor Roger Bonduel (1930-2019) in welded and patinated steel. From 1961 to 1966, Roger Bonduel taught visual arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bruges. Bonduel became known for his sculptures, furniture, and bas-reliefs. He worked with nickel, copper, steel, silver, brass, and bronze. He played an important role in the revival of religious art. Known for his mastery of metal, Bonduel, who collaborated with modernist architect Paul Felix and glassmaker Michel Martens, infused energy and movement into each of his works.
