Description

Limestone head fragment of a young woman, possibly representing the Virgin Mary. Her expression is gentle, empathetic, and serene. Origin: France, between 1420 and 1450. Delicately carved, it features beautiful details that are still visible, such as wavy locks of hair, hazel-shaped eyes, typical of this period, and beautiful facial and neck anatomy. Some traces of patina due to pollution are still visible, as well as lack of wear on the nose and lips.
