Japanese sword, SHINTO WAKIZASHI with KOSHIRAE

Steel, silver, wood, gold, lacquer

HIRA TSUKURI, MOKUME HADA type blade, with SANBON SUJI type yakiba.
Nakago of the Funa Gata type (boat hull).
Silver higo-habaki.
Mount (koshirae) aikushi.
A wooden tsuka, covered with red leaves studded with gold on a black lacquer background. A screw-on mekugi, in chased silver in the shape of a plum blossom. A finely chased silver decoration, forming fushi and kashira, depicting plum blossoms with gold centers and branches.
Black lacquered wooden scabbard (saya) adorned with gold flowers and butterflies; a chased silver decoration, following the tsuka, forms a wood bark at the koiguchi and long foliage at the kojiri.
Kosuka in silver decorated with plum blossoms following the tsuka; kogatana in steel, with engraved decoration.
Rare item, in very good condition.
