Piero Fornasetti (1913–1988) was an Italian designer and decorator, renowned for his poetic and graphic style. Born in Milan, he trained in architecture while developing a passion for drawing and the decorative arts. In the 1930s, he founded his own workshop and created furniture and objects adorned with original motifs, such as the famous faces of Lina Cavalieri. His work combined imagination and artisanal skill, transforming each object into a work of art. In the 1950s, he collaborated with the architect Gio Ponti on the celebrated Architettura series, where his graphic and architectural motifs were combined with modern furniture forms. His creations from the 1950s and 1960s embody mid-20th-century Italian design, blending a unique identity with decorative elegance.
