Rosettes marked “LE PROTECTOR SYSTEME TURBIAUX” on one side and “Bte SGDG EN FRANCE ET A l'ÉTRANGER PARIS”.
Registration number “4866”.
Jacques Edmond Turbiaux, a French gunsmith and inventor, filed a patent in 1882 for a radial cylinder weapon called "Le Protector". He extended this filing to Germany, England, Belgium and Italy; then a year later, in 1883, to the United States – where the Minneapolis Fire Arms Co. began marketing it, then sold the patent to Finnegam.
