Work service felling knife, called RAD-Haumesser, model 1934

Steel, nickel silver, antler, leather
Long. total: 37; Long. blade: 24 cm

Single-edged blade ending with a diagonal cut, grooved, marked on one side with the manufacturer's label: "BÖKER SOLINGEN"; "RAD" in a triangle above the "GES-GESCH" control hallmark on the heel.
The second panel is engraved with the motto "Arbeit adellt" (Work ennobles), in Gothic script.
Nickel silver mount, riveted antler scales.
Handle forming a stylized eagle's head.
Straight guard with a volute-shaped quillon.
Black enamelled steel scabbard, nickel-plated steel chape, chiseled with a runic interlacing; chape engraved with the emblem of the RAD.
Large carabiner and bail ring.

This slaughtering knife was intended for officers from the rank of Feldmeister upwards.
After the creation of the 1937 model, intended for senior officers, the wearing of the 1934 model will be extended and reserved for the ranks of Truppenführer and Unterfeldmeister.
