This exhibition invites visitors to enter the opulent world of the Japanese high nobility and warrior aristocracy, where aesthetics are intimately linked to function. From everyday objects to equestrian equipment, from refined writing desks to samurai weapons, each piece testifies to the same exacting standards: excellence, mastery, and perfection.
Lacquer crafted with ancestral techniques, saddles and stirrups fashioned into veritable adornments, armor and katanas of singular purity: each object reveals a society where art accompanies the exercise of power, and where mastery of craftsmanship itself becomes a mark of distinction.
