Italian work, 1970s

Elm burl and brass veneer, fabric lampshade
Very good condition
The base is a rectangular block, veneered with elm burl on all four sides and encircled by polished brass rods that rise in a single line from the plinth to the top plate. The square lampshade is covered in ecru fabric and rimmed with brass.
Nothing is sculpted: the entire composition relies on the design of the edges and the contrast between the disordered pattern of the magnifying glass, its knots and thorns, and the regularity of the metal. It is this contrast that defines the lamp.
Original plating and brass. The lampshade is the same as the original lamp. Electrical installation checked, European plug.
