Born in Germany, Jean Perzel is a great figure in the design world of the early 20th century. Its modern lighting company, founded in 1923, still exists today. Perzel lived and worked in Paris as a glassmaker before being naturalized as a French citizen after serving in the Foreign Legion during the First World War.
