This week, Eva Cwajg invites us to her table. This essential figure of Paul Bert Serpette, in love with her job, transmits his passion, between barbotine and exceptional porcelain services.
What is your background ?
I come from a family of antique dealers. My parents and grandparents already worked in Paul Bert Serpette, I was almost born here. First, I worked in ready-to-wear for a few years, then I came back to this job.
Tell us about your specialty
My specialty is the tableware art. I have always loved porcelain and earthenware, decorating tables, cooking and inviting people. I like to gather people around a beautiful table. My specialty sticks to my character, I'm a lover of life pleasures and I like conviviality. When I moved to Serpette, I first presented porcelain. In my second shop, I began to display faience. I also present barbotine, I like it a lot and I think I contributed a little to his return.
Tableware art is back to the taste of the day. I see this especially on social networks, it corresponds to the concept of well-being that is quite in the current trends. This is a sector that still has a lot of future. Having a specialty is a guarantee of quality for the clients and it gives unity to my work.
Every weekend I present new tables, new scenographies. It's always a pleasure, this job makes me happy.
Why did you choose Paul Bert Serpette?
The fact that my parents were there before me probably had an impact on my choice, but that's not why I moved here. For me, Paul Bert Serpette is an obvious. It's a very good market. I wanted to represent the tableware art in a chic atmosphere but a little cave Ali Baba, to leave the pleasure of discovery for a clientele of collectors and lovers of pretty tables. I like Paul Bert Serpette because the profiles of the buyers are very varied. We meet both very established people and young people who love beautiful dishes.
Do you have a room that you want to put forward?
I have this sublime service butterfly is a must Sarreguemines. It is decorated with flowers, insects and butterflies. It is a service that is known and still has phenomenal success. It is complete and contains more than 150 pieces.
I also have a wide selection of slips, especially at this time a wall of beautiful dishes of the 19th century. There was a big time of the slip, then a hollow. There is now a big comeback and a strong demand. People like to mix parts and the slip allows this. Foreigners and especially Americans are fond of them.
