Snuffbox with secret compartment,
in carved and inlaid chestnut,
foot-shaped in a sandal with heel,
finely decorated with inlaid wood and mother-of-pearl inlays and small guilloche decorations, bone sole,
two small dice encased under glass under the bone sole.
Very beautiful patina of origin. Amazing realism in the respect of proportions where even the light bumpy ankle feels to the touch when taken in hand.
To note: small lack of mother-of-pearl above the lid, undoubtedly of origin during the installation of the last small nail in wrought iron fixing it, idem for the front sole of the foot. Little lack of "hook" opening lid.
