Description
Grand Miroir ardent, after the Mirror of Buffon exposed at the Museum of Arts and Crafts in Paris.
At the time, it was a question of studying the concentration of the sun's rays. A legend dating back to ancient times attributed Archimedes to having set fire to the enemy galleys during the siege of Syracuse with large concave mirrors.
The object we have here dates from the 19th century.
