Object of convict, carved, patronymic and dated coconut:
"Balbon Eugene Sir Guyana 1888".
In the form of a ciborium.
On a guilloche background, decoration of 3 circular cartridges surrounded by palm leaves and florets.
Two profiles, a convict wearing a cap and a man wearing a hat (released convict?), And the inscription "Balbon Eugene Sir Guyana 1888".
Foot and lid decorated with gadroons. Interior of white wooden lid. Fixing by threaded rod and brass nut.
The objects of the cage coconut, also called "coconut", were made by released convicts who sold them to visitors of the port or colonial cities.
Good condition, note that there was originally a grip button at the top of the lid.
