Birds decor and stylized floral motifs on ocher background outlined with white border,
undecorated back and underside of the trunk (as always on old Norman chests).
Wire grab ring and original wrought iron hasp.
Typical traditional montage.
Antique hinges, but not original.
An old ribbon placed inside to hold the opening.
Interior in raw wood (some boxes are sometimes covered with paper or fabric).
Good original old condition, note the painted decor with normal partial use wear (a little more flaking on the top).
No restoration, beautiful patina of origin.
