Jean Gilles (1925-2014) lived and worked his whole career in Besançon (Doubs).
Lithographer and sculptor, he taught for 43 years sculpture at the Beaux-Arts in Besançon.
These sculptures have been exhibited in France, Germany, Canada and the United States.
A monumental work (7m20 x 7m20) in stone and wood
adorns the façade of Lycée Victor Hugo in Besançon.
