Astori, Antonia

Antonia Astori was born in 1940 in Italy. She studied industrial and graphic design at the University of Lausanne in Switzerland, from where she graduated in 1966. In 1968 she collaborated with Driade, Italian furniture manufacturing company among the most avant-garde. Antonia Astori specializes in the design of furniture system she helps to launch and it continues to improve with a first creation in 1968 Driade 1, then in 1980 with the collaboration of the no less famous Enzo Mari.

She creates a range of furniture bearing the name of Aphorism, being a lot in a few words, that's what her furniture reflects. It breaks the classic codes according to which a piece of furniture has only one and only one form.

In 1981 she received the Compasso d'Oro for her contribution to the firm Driade. Throughout his career, which continues to this day, his design will be present several times at events such as the Triennial of Milan or the fair "Abitare il tempo" in Verona.

In 1984, it is the famous fashion designers Marithé and François Girbaud who will use his skills for the interior design of their store located rue Etienne Marcel in Paris.
