Vogtherr, Burkhard

Burkhard Vogtherr was born in 1942 in Germany. He starts to learn ebenisterie then he will be graduated in industrial design from the Technical Institute of Kassel and Wuppertal in 1967.

From 1970 he creates his design agency that it still runs, and works as a independant designer.

This lead him to draw many chairs models for major retailers such as Fritz Hansen, Capellini or Arflex. this makes him still one of the most renamed German designers and award winning. Let's quote the famous Interior Design Magazine who is rewarding him in 1989, or four times the neocon Chicago (1996, 2000, 2007, 2008).

By his work, he seeks comfort and ergomotricity, whether for the home or the office. Many of his creations, by their inventiveness, led to the filing of international patents. Today Burkhard Vogtherr works surrounded by his team in his studio in Mulhouse .
