"In Elsa's footsteps"

From September 26 to October 26, 2020
Stand 79 alley 6 Paul Bert

To celebrate the birthday of Elsa Triolet, born September 12, 1896, Laurence and Denis, like modern-day Indiana Joneses, found the marvels of rattan identical to the rooms that furnished the mill of Villeneuve, Elsa's country house. Triolet and Louis Aragon.

In their collection of personal books our two intrepid antique dealers discovered photographs of the famous couple of writers sitting in pretty rattans. It did not take more to decide to recreate the atmosphere of the house of this great lady of literature in love with rattan.

Elsa Triolet met in 1928 the man of whom she would become the muse, Louis Aragon. Along with their love of words, they developed their love of rattan ... In 1951 the couple acquired the Moulin de Villeneuve; Louis of Aragon wishing for his companion, far from his native Russia, a refuge. This is where Elsa will rest from her tumultuous Parisian life to write down her ideas, to garden, but above all it will be an opportunity to decorate her property ... in a very Vauclair style!
