FLEA FESTIVAL 2024

September 26, 2024
Paul Bert Serpette

CORPUS, its language in the Decorative Arts - Flea Festival - September 26, 2024 from 7 p.m. Energized by the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Paul Bert Serpette celebrates the body in the Decorative Arts for this new edition of the Flea Festival, sponsored by SIMON PORTE JACQUEMUS. Thursday September 26, you will find various representations of the body through the eyes of renowned artists. Living works highlighting the performance of the model in the service of the artist invoked, sculptor, painter, choreographer... A work within the work, an immersive mise en abyme along the aisles. Entrances decorated with white drapes and trompe l'oeil pilasters and living statues in a “return to antiquity” spirit. Choreographed and posed tableaux vivants, inspired by the works of Caravaggio: the entombment of Christ, Judith and Holofernes, Narcissus, the beheading of Saint John, rest during the flight into Egypt. Contemporary dance dancers and acrobats will be there, to the rhythm of electronic music, dressed in academic costumes incorporating the codes of famous painters, Picasso, Mondrian... Two body painting lives will also be performed around two themes: Les Nanas by Nikki de Saint Phalle and body camouflage. And, the highlight of the show: Sara Greenberg, Canadian multidisciplinary artist, will unveil three aerial numbers where the grace of the body culminates. A parenthesis full of poetry and emotion.
