FERTILITY DOLL

First half of the 20th century

Wood, cowries, iron and cotton

H.: 16 cm

Doll with a ball body made up of numerous layered cowrie shells. She is shown seated, her legs bent in two arches tied with cotton threads; his arms take on this same construction. Its small round head is made of carved wood with a short nose and a pair of pelletized metal eyes.
