Necessary box containing a luxurious hunting rifle signed J. CHALET.

Juxtaposed Damascus barrels Ronchart Siauvé, double proof, St Etienne; with bail ring.
Toggle with double locks. Back plates signed J. Chalet for one and the other St. Etienne, each with a badge bearing the motto Pollet Virtus monogrammed. Outside hammers, with hammers depicting dolphins. For pin cartridge.
Volute bridge.
Walnut burr stock. Steel butt plate.
All the fittings are richly engraved with vines, with an angel of Bacchus on the locking key, a devil on the volute of the trigger guard, which is enriched with a couple representing Adam and Eve. All the screws are guilloché.

The chest is in walnut with triple brass lock. The interior is lined with purple velvet and boxwood burl. With its original accessories (1 missing)
