Two wooden butt plates, numbered, bail ring.

Model number 3 was initially not accepted by the American army, Smith & Wesson thus took the decision to propose this revolver to the Russian army in full reorganization.

By convincing General Gorloff, military attaché in the United States, on May 1, 1871, a contract was signed for an order of 20,000 pieces.

The particularity of this model is the use of a heavier bullet, a higher powder charge, the Cyrillic character markings and the wrist strap ring at the grip.

Very good working condition.
