Also called a candle snuffer, this pair of polished steel candle wick scissors resting on three legs and with openwork branches, is marked Hobday & Co. London, as well as the words "Patent", topped with a crown on the blade .
Snubbers were used to cut burnt candle wicks to prevent them from falling into the melted wax.
