Exceptional pair of ceremonial cabinets by ferdinando POGLIANI 1832-1899, Italy
Produced during the second half of the 19th century, these ebony cabinets inlaid with ivory are each embellished with 6 sculptures in the round in ivory, the decoration of the panels in part and counterpart, they are presented on pedestals on plinths.
Ferdinando POGLIANI is one of the greatest Milanese cabinetmakers of his time, based in Via Montenapoleone, he was the official supplier of luxury furniture to the upper Italian spheres. Rewarded with several prizes at exhibitions, Pogliani has made a specialty of ebony furniture inlaid with ivory.
