Map of Paris by Michel Etienne Turgot, 1734-1739

This map was Paris was created under the orders of Michel Etienne Turgot, who was the Provost of the Merchants of Paris (1354-1358).

This version was started in 1734 by the artist Louis Bretez and engraved in 1739 by Claude Lucas.

This set is comprised of 20 engraved copper plates mounted on Japanese washi rice paper. Total dimensions: W 320 x H 260 cms

Some slight wear. First edition.
