Magnificent pair of oils on canvas by the French artist Albert Nolet.
A. Nolet, painter of the 19th century, mainly paints coastal landscapes, indeed we find a lot in his work of the edges of rivers, lakes or classic seascapes.
He focuses on the Normandy landscapes in particular.
These two oils both describe a villager at the edge of a stream in the heart of a forest.
Albert Nolet then captures the poetry of a daily newspaper of the time.
Precise and detailed, each canvas, aesthetically different, manages to express a feeling of soft melancholy.
The work on the undergrowth as on the sky or the water is remarkable.
The frame is identical and of good quality with a silver band which brings even more relief to the molded frames in good condition.
The canvas is 72 x 91cm.
