Ceramist and sculptor qualified "Baroque" Alain Girel is distinguished from the production of his contemporaries. It is positioned far from the minimalist or abstract trend of ceramic sculptors he rubs shoulders with. He draws his inspiration from the masters of the past, in the famous works of European painting.
Alain Girel enters in 1965 at the Academy of Fire near the sculptor Szabo in Paris. Following his meeting with Jeanne Grandpierre, he moved to the famous potter village of La Borne between 1974 and 1981.
