Two important “couple” sculptures made by Begga D'Haese (1934 – 2023).
Younger sister of Reinhoud D'Haese who was part of the Cobra group's incubator in the 1950s and of Roel D'Haese considered the greatest Flemish surrealist sculptor, Begga had to make a name for herself.
From 1969, she began working on monumental sculptures, including @igmarstuer
and @pschantiques today offer two original and unique examples.
Both are signed at the bottom.
Carved from Afselia wood and resting on a bluestone base. Circa 1980.
Dimensions of the works
