Antique French carved oak bench-chest – Neo-Renaissance style, 19th century

Antique carved oak bench-chest, rectangular in shape, resting on a slightly raised solid base, made in the 19th century in the Neo-Renaissance style. The piece draws inspiration from Renaissance and Baroque decorative vocabulary, with a front and back richly adorned with scrolls, foliage, and plant motifs carved in relief, arranged symmetrically and harmoniously.

The straight backrest, surmounted by a molded shelf, features a more pronounced carved motif in the center, probably ornamental or heraldic. The solid, finely molded armrests frame the seat and reinforce the overall monumental character.
