Pair of armchairs with flat backs in molded beech, carved and patinated in the spirit of Jacob-Desmalter.
Italian work from the Empire period, return from Egypt.
The set of two armchairs has pediment backs carved with an Egyptian head decorated with floral ornament.
They have armrests supported by caryatids with Egyptian heads topped with nemes.
Ornamental garlands are found just below these heads.
The forefeet are lion-claw posed on a stele while the hindfeet are straight.
These feet are joined by crosspieces which provide stability and a certain lightness.
The original patina mixing gray and gold sr blends perfectly with the exceptional original upholstery.
This very atypical set enjoys an extraordinary decorative potential.
Work whose originality and quality are undeniable.
