Ducaroy, Michel

Michel Ducaroy was born in 1925 in Lyon where he studied at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts. He comes from a family of industrialists producing contemporary furniture. At the age of 29, he joined the company Roset which manufactures seats, of which he will be director of the design department. Creations by Michel Ducaroy, we particularly remember the Togo sofa which he described as "a tube of toothpaste bent like a stove pipe and closed at both ends", without underwire, in polyester foam. This sofa is always a best seller and will delight fans of great comfort and design. He also created numerous seats, edited in large numbers, such as the Kashima sofa or the Adria model.
