Ketoff, Sacha

Born in 1959 in France, of Russian and Italian origin, of an architect and engineer father, Sacha Ketoff grew up between Paris and Milan. Very young, he will attend Jean Dubuffet (painter) and Jean Prouvé (architect) two strong personalities of the time. He will oscillate all his life between design and painting.

In 1969, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Milan art history section, then at the School of Architecture of Paris. He then exchanges with the tenors of Arte Povera, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Joseph Beuys or Cy Twombly.

The 80's are for Ketoff a decade of furniture and product design. Tables, lamps, watches, are designed for prestigious publishers such as Écart International directed by Andrée Putmann or Aluminor. In 1985 he was rewarded by the APCI (Agency for the Promotion of Industrial Creation).

In his turn he became a teacher, teaching design at Camondo School and then at the School of Fine Arts in Perpignan. Today some of these creations are at the Cooper Hewitt Museum in New York. Sacha Ketoff left us in 2014, his creations always exposed in galleries.
