François VERDIER (Paris 1651 - 1730)
The Trinity
Black stone and grey wash
45 x 29 cm - 66.7 x 52 cm
Stains, creases, old tears restored
Probably created when Verdier was at the height of his career and artistry in Le Brun's workshops. The main hypothesis is that it is a "modello" drawing, either for a specific commission (ultimately not carried out or since lost) or as a model to be presented during visits from potential patrons, to demonstrate the type of project the workshop could produce.
Free and insured shipping within mainland France. Can be viewed and collected at my stall at the Saint-Ouen flea market.
Feel free to contact me for more information or photos. Currently on display at my stall at the Saint-Ouen flea market.
